Due to the popularity of our original adaptations of Aesop's Fables stories for the puppet stage, The Creativity Institute writers have developed four new original "Gwynn's Fables" puppet show ideas in the same style. Each easy-to-read, easy-to-perform puppet show script communicates an important "moral" lesson to children.
These puppet show scripts have parts for from two to four puppets, and some require the voice of an additional off-stage narrator. Depending on their ability, some children may be able to perform more than one role in the same show. The roles could be performed by a variety of character puppets, although the parts now are assigned to the animal puppets we also sell packaged with these scripts.
These are all child-friendly puppet shows. There is no violence and no one gets eaten.
The four puppet show scripts in this package are:
"No Excuses (You can't succeed if you don't try)" demonstrates the value of not giving up and trying your best. Duck is full of excuses why he's not participating in the art contest until Elephant challenges his excuses and gets him to try.
"What a Pal! (Fair Weather Friends)" shows how the Lion learns who his real friends are when he stops treating them to fun things and he asks them for a favor.
"To Tell the Truth" (Honesty)" shows why it's important to tell the truth when Froggie dishonestly takes all the credit for helping out, but has the tables turned on him when Teacher figures it out.
"The Fun of the Game (You Don't Have to Win Everything)" shows how the animals still respect Lion when he doesn't win everything he expects to.
Also included with these puppet show scripts is a set of puppet show stage directions that The Creativity Institute put together to help parents and children stage more professional and enjoyable puppet shows, such as tips on moving mouths (almost everybody does it backwards), simulating walking, etc.
NOTE: THESE SCRIPTS CAN BE DOWNLOADED AT CHECKOUT.
You can download each script individually or as one Zip file.
